Agritourism farmers and other supporters of agritourism and rural tourism are invited to join the NC Agritourism Networking Association (NC ANA) for networking opportunities and educational workshops across the state. Dues are $25 for agritourism farmers and agritourism service providers (tourism professionals who support rural and agricultural tourism) and dues for county Cooperative Extension agents are $15.
The ANA will offer agritourism farmers who join the ANA two free liability signs to be posted after Jan. 1, 2006. The text for the sign and legal requirements are found in the law passed by the General Assembly in 2005 - Limit Liability for Activities Arising from Agritourism Activities (see www.ncagr.com/agritourism, "Limit Liability for Agritourism Farms").
The signs are weather-resistant and of a semi-permanent material. Signs may be available to service providers and farmer non-members after initial orders are filled. The signs must be pre-ordered prior to printing. Any funds remaining after sign orders are filled will be used for planning and promoting a statewide agritourism conference this Fall.
