2006-10-31 23:04 2006-11-15 23:00 The November 15 due date is approaching for two SOUTHERN REGION SARE calls for proposals: 2007 Southern Region SARE Producer Grants and 2007 Southern Region SARE On-Farm Research Grants. Proposals will be accepted only through the Southern SARE Online Proposal Submission web site. All the rules and full information on how to submit proposals can be found in the call for proposals at http://www.southernsare.org Southern SARE PRODUCER GRANTS are only open to farmers and/or ranchers or producer organizations. Any farmer/rancher or producer organization in the US SOUTHERN REGION is eligible to apply for the grants which have maximums of $10,000 for individual producers and $15,000 for producer organizations to be used within two years. ACTION: Notice of solicitation of applications. ----------------------------------- SUMMARY: The Rural Business-Cooperative Service (RBS) announces the availability of approximately $19.475 million in competitive grant funds for fiscal year (FY) 2006 to help independent agricultural producers enter into value-added activities. Of this amount, $1.5 million is set aside for applicants requesting $25,000 or less. Awards may be made for planning activities or for working capital expenses, but not for both. The maximum grant amount for a planning grant is $100,000 and the maximum grant amount for a working capital grant is $300,000. |
